WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR JULY 29
Nella tentazione, cercando la gloria. Il prezzo da pagare e’ la caduta dell’uomo, but for me? I just have to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.
The show opens with the usual montage of talent arriving at the arena tonight.
Seth Rollins makes his entrance in a referee striped top with leg of mutton sleeves, black pleather pants with white piping, and zebra boots.
He gets on the mic and welcomes us to Monday Night Rollins before introducing his charges for SummerSlam, first CM Punk and then Drew McIntyre.
Seth says he can see there’s a lot of tension and tonight, directly from the office of Adam Pearce, the two of them are not to lay a finger on each other or the match for SummerSlam is off. One step further, if they lay a finger on Rollins, the match will also be off.
Hearing this CM Punk rolls out of the ring and heads over to chill out with Pat McAfee. Drew McIntyre tells him not to be a coward and to get back in the ring, and CM says he’s not scared of either of them, he’s afraid of what he might do so he’s taking himself out of the situation.
Rollins says Punk loves getting things his way but that’s not how this works and it’s not how SummerSlam is going to work, and he volunteered to be referee because they scared all the other refs away, so he could go back to Adam Pearce and say he doesn’t want to do it but he wants to see the two of them fight.
So he orders CM back to the ring, and Punk obliges. Drew talks about how he and Seth both want to be the best and want what’s best for the future of WWE, and Punk isn’t that. He’s a cancer, he’s poisoning minds in NXT and he’s going to screw it all up, so remember that on Saturday. Rollins says he’s right that nobody hates Punk as much as him, but he’s missing that Seth also hates McIntyre too.
So shut up for three seconds and he’ll get to the rules and regulations for this violent masterpiece at SummerSlam. He says there’s only one rule, only one regulation, and that’s that the two of them will listen to everything he has to say. He calls the shots, he’s the law. He counts to three, they tap when he says they tap, there will be countouts only if he wants there to be, and they may be to ten, or twenty, or a million.
Disqualifications? Eh, referee’s discretion. But if either of them get out of line or disagree with the way he calls his match, they can’t push him around, he’s a spiteful little bastard and he’ll put them in the dirt. Punk says Seth being a referee is a hat on a hat and he’s probably getting off on it based on how he’s dressed, but one thing he doesn’t want.
He doesn’t want his help, he’s never needed it. McIntyre interrupts and says he’s said what he wanted to say, he wasn’t even trying to take Punk out at the Royal Rumble and he’s screwed him again and again and what did he think was going to happen? When that bell rings he’s going to violently assault CM and break his jaw.
This isn’t a wrestling match and he’s not going to stop until Punk’s heart does. And the best part about it is this is in Cleveland in a stadium and he’s going to get paid SO much money to do something he’d do for free.
Punk says he was absent for ten years from this company and they chanted his name. They sing Seth’s song, they chant his name, Drew is the third wheel here. The one positive about PDS— Punk Derangement Syndrome, that they clearly both suffer from— they get to breathe in his air and he hopes they enjoy it.
The best thing that happened to Drew’s career is hurting CM Punk and it’s the worst thing, and for how big and tall and mean he is, he’s stupid and he keeps dumbing himself out of positions. He dumbed himself out of the world title and he’s going to do the same thing on Saturday when he steps in the ring with the Best in the World.
He’s not as tall or fast or strong as him, but he’s got heart, he’s got the people chanting his name. What does McIntyre have? Drew holds up the bracelet with AJ and Larry’s names on it and CM gets right in his face. Drew talks trash and tells him to take it
The Judgment Day are in their clubhouse, which someone has trashed. Dominik Mysterio acts dumb and Rhea Ripley says Liv Morgan obviously did it before asking why they keep letting Carlito hang out.
The erstwhile Alpha Academy make their entrance and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Damian Priest arrives at the clubhouse and tells Finn Balor he really thinks he should be in his corner tonight, but Finn tells him to focus on GUNTHER and cleaning up the clubhouse and he’ll take care of business tonight. Lyra Valkyria, Katana Chance, and Kayden Carter make their entrance to send us to break.
Back from commercial, Rhea Ripley cuts a promo on Liv Morgan, telling her she so badly wants to be the victim in her little fantasy but that’s all it is, a fantasy. The reality is that at SummerSlam her tour comes to an end.
Katana Chance, Kayden Carter, & Lyra Valkyria vs. Shayna Baszler, Sonya Deville, & Zoey Stark
