WWE RAW RESULTS AND LIVE BLOG FOR MAR. 28
The machine of a dream, such a clean machine with the pistons a-pumpin’ and the hubcaps all gleam. When I’m holding your wheel, all I hear is your gear. With my hand on your grease gun, it’s like a disease son, but right now I have to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for these folks.
The show opens with WWE Champion Brock Lesnar making his entrance.
We get a nice long recap of his feud with Roman Reigns before anything can happen.
Lesnar gets on the mic and says Paul Heyman’s been yapping for him for 20 years but he’s gotta do this, and he welcomes us to Raw. He says that probably sucked but he doesn’t suck at handing out country ass-kickings, and he’s gonna spoil his gameplan for Sunday.
On Sunday, he’s gonna take a trip down memory lane with Reigns, down the streets of Suplex City and then introduce him to the Beast of Broadway, and then they’ll hit the carnival, go for a ride on the F-5, and nobody survives that right. And then the party really starts, because they’re gonna be wedding crashers and their titles are gonna get married and have a unified championship baby that he’s gonna have full custody of.
He’s in a great mood because in six days he finally gets his hands on Roman Reigns, and there’ll be no more running and nowhere to hide. On Sunday at WrestleMania he’ll stand tall with two titles and they will introduce him as your new reigning and defending unified champion of the world, Brock Lesnar.
Commentary hypes up the rest of the show.
Miz makes his entrance and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Miz cuts a promo about the mask he stole from Rey Mysterio and how he doesn’t have it anymore and Logan Paul has it.
Logan Paul makes his entrance wearing the mask and Miz calls him Lucha Logan, and talks about how they’re gonna win at Mania.
The Mysterios attack during their entrance, referee Eddie Orengo works to pull Dominik off of the Miz, and manages to restore order and ejects Dom.
Rey Mysterio vs. the Miz
Miz in control briefly but Mysterio turns him around with leg kicks and a tijeras, fired up, off the ropes, baseball slide almost takes Paul off on the floor and the legend runs right into a spinebuster into the barricade and a basement DDT on the floor. The heels high five and chest bump and we go to break.
Back from commercial, jockeying for position in the turnbuckles, Rey knocks him down and hits a diving seated senton! Knees in the corner, whip reversed, Miz hits a slingshot powerbomb but it’s reversed into a sunset flip...
Rey Mysterio wins by pinfall with a sunset flip.
Post-match the Mysterios go to town on the heels, taking Miz out with a stereo 619 and sequential frog splashes! Logan Paul maintains his distance.
We’re informed that we’ll see Vince McMahon decide Seth Rollins’ fate, after the break.
Back from commercial we are again informed that Veer Mahaan is coming on Apr. 4.
We get a video package chronicling Seth Rollins’ attempts to get on the WrestleMania card.
A video of Seth’s meeting at headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, follows.
Vince makes him wait and does his best to ignore him before yelling at him to get his feet off his table. Seth wants to cut to the chase and offers a couple theories as to why he doesn’t have a WrestleMania match, up to and including being fired. Vince says he’s surprised Rollins couldn’t win his way in and said he could have just come and asked.
McMahon tells him he could have a stupendous WrestleMania without him but it’d be good if he was in it, and he’d have to have his own main event, so Seth is going to WrestleMania. Rollins asks if there’s a trick and Vince says he’s busy. Rollins asks who his opponent is, and Vince says he’ll know his opponent when he’s in the ring and he’s introduced.
Seth celebrates getting a match obnoxiously.
Omos makes his entrance and we go to break.
Omos vs. Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar) (Handicap Match)
Erik to start, lighting Omos up with body blows, a forearm to the jaw rocks the big man but he just destroys the Viking with a single lariat! Erik crashes to the floor, the referee counts...
Omos wins by countout.
Post-match Ivar tries to rush in and avenge his pal, but Omos lays him out with a kick!
Omos is interviewed about WrestleMania.
He says no one can threaten him and he’ll dominate everyone.
Enter Bobby Lashley.
He gets in the ring and squares up with the giant, but gets shoved away with ease and then thrown into the corner! Bob charges in and Omos grabs him by the neck, off the ropes and a shoulder block takes the giant off his feet!
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial, Dana Brooke and Reggie are chatting backstage.
He gets on one knee and goes to propose, offering her a WrestleMania moment right now and pulling a ring out of his jacket. She accepts!
Akira Tozawa and Tamina attack and run them off and Akira does his own proposal! She pulls him up before he can get the question out and asks him what he thinks before spelling it out and accepting, but the ring he bought is too small and he has to lube it up with some spit to get it over her ring finger.
She swings him around and we see R-Truth and referee Chad Patton peeping in the background.
Roman Reigns makes his entrance, flanked by Paul Heyman and the Usos as usual.
Reigns gets on the mic and asks Pittsburgh to acknowledge him.
He says he had all his usual spiel lined up and that’s all facts, it’s all true. He’s done everything that you can do in this business except beat the Beast at WrestleMania, and that pisses him off. But if we want to talk about Brock he’ll talk about Brock. What really bothers him about Lesnar is that just a couple weeks ago he was out for blood and it was personal to him, but he’s already spilled his blood?
In 2018 at WrestleMania 34, he busted Roman wide open right on the hairline and he bled all over New Orleans and his kids didn’t recognize him and his wife didn’t want him in the business and his father doubted him, his family was disappointed in him. But now it’s just a game to Brock?
That’s all good, because he changed the game. He tooks Brock’s advocate and elevated him to a wiseman, took his title reign and beat it, and made him bleed, and now he’s gonna take his title. And then Lesnar will know that it’s personal.
We get a women’s tag title scene recap.
Carmella and Zelina Vega are doing a photoshoot.
Vega says she’s shocked they’re on the same page and Mella says they’re gonna look stunning at WrestleMania when they defend their titles. Zelina talks about taking out all their challengers and Natalya and Shayna Baszler roll up.
They tell them to get in line behind them tonight and let them lead their team to victory and then win the tag titles, and maybe they’ll let them live long enough to see WrestleMania.
The babyface team for our atomicos makes their entrance to send us to break.
Back from commercial, we get some WWE Hall of Fame hype, including the announcement that the Steiners are going in.
Carmella, Natalya, Shayna Baszler, & Queen Zelina Vega vs. Liv Morgan, Naomi, Rhea Ripley, & Sasha Banks
Liv and Natalya to start, Neidhart with a double leg, Morgan kicks her off and hits a flying headscissors and a backsplash in the corner. Tag to Ripley, snapmare sets up a basement dropkick, tag to Naomi, Nattie gets a few strikes in and tags Baszler in.
Quick tags, heels working Naomi over, but Vega finds herself on the wrong side of town as Banks tags in. The match breaks down into “everybody do something cool” territory, Carmella lays Rhea out with a superkick and Zelina takes Sasha to the floor to capitalize as we go to break.
Back from commercial, Carmella has a reverse chinlock in on Banks, Sasha breaks away, heels clear the apron, tag to Baszler. Naomi waiting for the tag, Shayna knocks her down, standing Stretch Muffler on the Boss and a tag to Neidhart! Hart Attack connects but Zelina steals the pin and Baszler breaks it up!
Heels break down with infighting, Sasha tags out to Naomi, big roundhouse kick, Morgan and Ripley at it, upkick sets her up...
Liv Morgan, Naomi, Rhea Ripley, & Sasha Banks win by pinfall with Riptide from Ripley on Zelina Vega.
We get a Kevin Owens/Steve Austin recap and go to break.
Back from commercial we get a video package recapping “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s legendary career.
Kevin Owens is in the ring and gets on the mic.
He says that was a lovely video package but not nearly the tribute that he gave Austin last week. He knows everyone is ecstatic that Stone Cold is his guest at WrestleMania but points out that he’s been gone for 19 years and he ain’t ever coming back. At WrestleMania it’s not gonna be Stone Cold, it’s gonna be Steve.
And that’s cool, it’s the Steve that’s been drinking himself into oblivion for 19 years and begs everyone to come on his little podcast and talk about the old days. He’s not coming to the KO show to pick a fight, he’s coming on to have a nice little chat and because Kev is such a nice guy he’s gonna give it to him.
He hates the taste of beer but he’ll toast to Austin finally officially passing the torch to him as the new Stone Cold and the one true master of the Stunner, because Owens 3:16 says my Stunner is better than yours. And then once that’s done, Steve, you can be on your way.
But one little friendly warning, if you try to get funny, there’ll be a Stunner with Steve’s name on it.
Ricochet makes his entrance to send us to break.
We get an inset promo where Austin Theory says he’s gonna give Pat McAfee a taste of what he’s gonna see at WrestleMania in his match against Ricochet tonight.
Austin Theory vs. Ricochet
Fast-paced back and forth, Ricochet lands an enzuigiri and goes up top, but Theory crotches him and hoists him up into a fireman’s carry...
Austin Theory wins by pinfall with the ATL.
We get some hype for Bianca Belair returning and go to break.
Back from commercial we get a media reel for Triple H’s retirement announcement.
Bianca Belair makes her entrance and gets on the mic.
She says Becky Lynch came out here last week and talked about everything she’d do to keep the title around her waist and the truth is Bianca threatens her, and that’s why she goes after her like she does. She plays the victim and tries to ruin her reputation, but girl, uh-uh.
She’s the EST for a reason and congratulations, she got taken out for a week but now she’s back like she never even left. And on Saturday, she’s coming for that title and there’s not a damn thing Lynch can do!
Becky tries to attack from out of nowhere but Belair is one-step ahead and beats her down! Eventually Lynch gets the chair she brought with her and hits a few targeted chairshots to turn the tide! She opens a black back and gets out a pair of shears! She reaches down and grabs Bianca’s braid but the EST hosses herself up and hits the KOD to save her hair!
She hits another KOD for good measure! Bianca spots the scissors and picks them up, stalking after Becky! She reaches down and grabs a handful of Lynch’s hair and cuts it off! She takes another handful and keeps cutting!
Becky has a meltdown looking at her shorn hair in the ring.
Drew McIntyre makes his entrance and we go to break.
Back from commercial finds Becky staring in a mirror like a moody teen holding the remnants of her hair. She calls Bianca Belair a bitch and we cut away.
Happy Fellas get an inset promo where Corbin tells Moss that he’s gonna take care of things by himself tonight, so he should just sit back.
Drew McIntyre vs. Happy Fellas (Happy Corbin & Madcap Moss) (Handicap Match)
Drew ends up running wild on Moss in short order, neckbreaker into the kip-up while a frustrated Corbin looks on. McIntyre throws Madcap over to his pal for the tag but Happy jumps down off the apron and abandons his friend! 3... 2... 1...
Drew McIntyre wins by pinfall with a Claymore on Madcap Moss.
Post-match, Happy Corbin hits the ring and beats Drew down! He puts him into the post corner to corner and then leaves with McIntyre’s sword!
Edge is in a dark room sitting at a table with scales on it.
He says last week he had a choice to make whether to hit Seth Rollins with a chair and give him another beating, but he decided to take fate into his own hands and it needed to be AJ Styles. He says it’ll be a match for the ages, but he saw the look in AJ’s face last week and he knows he’s already in his head.
Sunday is Styles’ judgment day, and his judgment is sealed.
And so we go to break.
Back from commercial, AJ Styles is interviewed.
He says Edge has changed like he’s trying to get in his head, and mission accomplished, because all he’s thought about it how he’s gonna hurt him. He wanted the Pitbull? He’s gonna get something even worse. (...Fourtune AJ?)
Rick Boogs plays Shinsuke Nakamura in and they join commentary for our main event.
The Usos make their entrance and get an inset promo where they talk about how they’re gonna beat RK-BRO tonight and Nakamura and Boogs at WrestleMania.
And so we go to break.
RK-BRO (Matt Riddle & Randy Orton) vs. the Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso)
RK-BRO with early control, the Usos go to the floor for a breather and get back suplexed into the announce desk to send us to break.
Back from commercial, RK-BRO in control, Riddle hits the Karelin Lift on Jimmy, but he gets him in the corner and tags Jey in! Usos in control at length, action to the floor and we go to break.
Back from commercial, Riddle is still isolated but a running knee gets him some separation! Tags made, Orton in hot on Jimmy, snap scoop powerslam takes two tries but he gets there! Hanging DDT blocked, Jey legal after a blind tag, schoolboy for a nearfall but he gets a snap scoop powerslam too!
Again the hanging DDT is blocked at first but Matt runs interference and Randy hits it! Orton goes to that special place but the Street Profits attack...
RK-BRO win by disqualification, presumably.
They put boots to the Raw champs, Boogs and Nakamura hit the ring to beat the Usos up but Riddle recovers and single-handedly turns the tide and helps his buddy out with an assisted RKO on Montez Ford! More RKOs for the Profits!
That’s the show, folks.
